Shot Gun for some pump-action glugging

by Edwin - on June 19, 2010

Are you an avid sports fan? If so, chances are you would have stocked up your favorite beverage of choice (preferably something laced with alcohol) over the season to make sure that you drink by celebrating each victory, while drowning your sorrows with each defeat. Either way, you still get your alcohol fix, but do make sure you are in a safe environment without going overboard when doing so. For those who want to add more fun into parties or major sports events like the World Cup, forget about vuvuzelas – we have the Shot Gun here that retails for just £14.99 a pop, requiring no live cartridges but just bottles of liquor instead, as you experience pump-action glugging that will definitely burn your throat if you happen to be on the receiving end of neat tequila. One more excuse to get smashed, eh?

Cross Spy Camera

Cross Spy Camera

by Ally - on June 6, 2010

This is one of those gadgets that you’d have to be a bit on the goth side in order for this to work. After all, if you’re in a business type attire then a chunky black cross is going to appear just a bit on the strange side. Which would make the gadget absolutely pointless since its whole purpose is to be stealthy and catch people in the act.

Message Messenger Bag imitates snail mail and email

Message Messenger Bag imitates snail mail and email

by Ally - on June 6, 2010

We all remember snail mail, actually there are those times when you still have to use it from time to time. Cards are still way more fun to get as snail mail than receiving some cheesy E-Card. Well for anyone that carries mail to people for a living, now you can have a bag that looks exactly like the things it carries within. Of course for those of you that are very addicted to your email messages, one side of the bag is made to look like the email icon we all know and love.

by Ally - on June 6, 2010

so that you never have to have your own common sense. Instead of always hopping online just before you leave though, you could have this Online Coat Rack. It’ll let you know how the day is going to be, which will help you choose which coat you need to be using.

iHome iP49 Portable Rechargeable Audio System for iPhone and iPod

by Edwin - on June 7, 2010

The iHome iP49 Portable Rechargeable Audio System for iPhone and iPod is the latest speaker dock to hit the market, as if there aren’t enough of these running around the market already. This will be a first for iHome in terms of it being a portable offering from the newly minted Studio Series which offers Bongiovi Acoustics’ Digital Power Station technology – the name alone ought to conjure up aural images of top notch quality, don’t you think so? Apart from that, the iP49 is also iHome’s first portable alarm clock radio that sports a rechargeable battery which enables users to enjoy hours of music just about any where and at any time without having to worry about its battery running flat – as long as you start off with a full charge, of course.

Chocolate Fountain
I was at a friends wedding a couple of years ago and at the reception they had an ice sculpture of a swan (not sure why) and also a chocolate fountain which I’d never seen before or since. You just put bits of fruit or mash mallows on the end of skewers and then put them under the chocolate fountain to get a nice generous coating of warm milky chocolate.

LED Keyboard
Loads of programs have different uses for different keys, especially games. Wouldn’t it be really cool if every key was like a mini LCD screen and the contents of it would change depending on what program you were using.

Well the smart people at Art. Lebedev Studio are on the case and have a prototype. It looks pretty swish and will be on many gadgeteers shopping lists when it’s released.

You can be editing images one minute with psd keyboard

then if you fancy a bit of fragging switch to quake mode quake keyboard

Football Fan Display, lets Fans Abuse the Players

Football Fan Display, lets Fans Abuse the Players

by Al - on June 12, 2010

This is a cool concept and some what apt with the world cup just kicking off, the somewhat boringly named Football Fan Display.

Football Fan Display is a hand-held flexible foam board which is used to digitally display messages of support or criticism to players at live matches. This is done by pressing switches on the back to light up sections on the front to form a number or letter. Groups of fans can communicate with players by using multiple products to spell out messages and thus supplying them with a greater sense of interaction at the venue.

I knew there was something missing in my USB gadget collection, not sure how I managed to cope without the USB Cigarette Lighter.

Not much else to say about this product other than why? You can buy the USB lighter from Latest Buy for £23.97 (even the price is strange).

Roller Coaster Kit

This has got to be the coolest kit out there, make your own fully functioning roller coaster, I don’t know what father would not want one of these for upcoming fathers day (if my daughters reading this then please start saving)

It includes the classic roller coaster loop and for added realism the shoulder restraints automatically move up and down at the operating station. The included software lets you ride the coaster from any seat position and also provides true coaster geeks with a much needed real0time G-Force information.

Play Hopscotch on your calculator

Play Hopscotch on your calculator

by Ally - on June 13, 2010

No childhood is complete without a few rounds of hopscotch now and then. Sure, it’s a little outdated to most kids today, but it’s still a well loved classic. For those of you that miss the days of hopping around on those little squares, you might like this new calculator. It shows the world that although you’re a responsible adult now, but you once were a child who was perfectly content with nothing more than hopscotch.

Doggie Fountain is self serve

Doggie Fountain is self serve

by Ally - on June 13, 2010

There are plenty of fountains out there to make sure that your pet gets fresh water when the need it. However, most of them stay on all of the time, which isn’t necessarily bad if you enjoy the relaxing sound of running water. However, if you’d like to control how much water goes through the fountain you may want to try one of these Doggie Fountains instead. It doesn’t offer constant water flow, it only gives water when the pet activates it.

Facebook Like Button becomes stamp

by Ally - on June 13, 2010

It’s a tricky thing being a Facebook addict, sometimes the outside world is just a little too bland. Thankfully one addict finally found a way to help you cope when you’re not able to log in. Just pick up one of these rubber stamps and you’ll be able to like things in a true Facebook fashion. Never again will you have to live your real life in a non-cyber way.

Slip Watch makes life easier

Slip Watch makes life easier

by Ally - on June 7, 2010

Every single time you want to check your watch to read the time, you have to twist your arm around just to read it. Thankfully someone has finally had the common sense to create a watch that you don’t have to be a contortionist to read. Sure, you could always turn your arm to read the time, but this is so much easier.

Those of you that often leave your home unprotected and travel the world probably could use a little something to keep you from worrying. Sure, you could get an alarm systemfor your home that alerts you when someone has entered your home, but sometimes you just need to see for yourself that everything is in perfect order. Scarab: A self-driving, electric police pursuit vehicle

Scarab: A self-driving, electric police pursuit vehicle

by Mark R - on June 7, 2010

Once again, it would appear that science fiction has somehow turned into fact with the Scarab car.

Basically, the Scarab is a car that is self-driven, like K.I.T.T. fromKnight Rider. This self-driving car works a little different than the one from the TV show.

In other words, there is no David Hasselhoff sitting behind the wheel to patrol the streets. The idea behind the Scarab is to to have an officer “tag” a speeding vehicle with a radar gun, and the Scarab then takes over with the chase.

Having a MacBook means that you can’t go blending in with the rest of the world, it’s just against the rules. Should you want to perk up your MacBook a little, you can give it some personality with these stickers. There is a wide range of them, but each one makes your Apple logo look like a man’s head. Sorry, there are no female versions, but if you like your mustaches then you’ll have plenty to look at.

Monsterbike is the tallest thing on three wheels

by Mark R - on June 7, 2010

I’m sure that you have seen those bikes from the old days, with that huge front wheel. I’m not certain what they are called, but go ahead and cross one of those with a monster truck, and you have this: the Monsterbike.

According to my Source, it is “quite possibly the largest yet rideable three-wheeled bicycle ever made”. Shouldn’t it be the largest tricycle ever made? Oh well. Check out the video after the jump.

by Mark R - on June 7, 2010

I’m guessing that most of you already know about Steve Jobs’ keynote at WWDC this morning, and how iPhone version 4 has just been unveiled.

If you missed the keynote, here are the highlights after the jump:

Orange Power Wellies

Orange Power Wellies

by Mark R - on June 8, 2010

The 2010 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is scheduled to take place in June 23-28, and these boots are made for walking during it, apparently.

According to a Press Release, these are the Orange Power Wellies, and they were created in collaboration with renewable energy experts GotWind for “a unique power generating sole” that converts heat from the feet into electricity.

Say what now? You mean that all that sweaty feet can be used to power something like a mobile device? Apparently so. In fact, about 12 hours of stomping around can give enough of a charge a mobile phone for about an hour. You want more power, then you had better get your feet moving. Seriously, the hotter your feet get, the more power you can make.

Nanodots magnetic sets released today

Nanodots magnetic sets released today

by Mark R - on June 8, 2010

This next item is set to be launched today, and I’m not certain how to classify it. I suppose that one could simply look at it and call it a building toy, but I would compare it with Lego or K’nex.

The Nanodots are essentially tiny magnetized balls that will lock together when put in certain arrangements. You can watch a video here of the Nanodots channel if you want to see it in action for yourself.

Leap Frog Leapster Explorer

Leap Frog Leapster Explorer

by Mark R - on June 8, 2010

I’ve reported on Leap Frog products before, such as the Didjand the Leapster II.

They are terrific at making portable and electric gaming/educational toys for kids in the grade school years, and they just announced the Leapster Explorer Learning Experience yesterday.

If you didn’t hear about it, I don’t blame you. After all, Apple had this new iPhone thing that they were all excited about. That effectively killed most technological coverage yesterday.

Anyway, the Leapster Explorer Learning Experience is designed for kids ages four to nine, and it has a high resolution touchscreen as well as “a click-in camera accessory”. I’m not certain if that means it can take pictures, but it can support downloadable Leaplet learning Apps such as e-Books and videos.

Trashlight isn’t trashy

Trashlight isn’t trashy

by Ally - on June 8, 2010

This is the most classy trash themed light that you could ever possibly own. Sure, trash is a dirty thing, but you can pretty it up with this little gadget. With this you’ll never again have to dump out your trash in the dark since the lamp is directly attached to the can itself. Sure, it could make putting trash bags into the can a little tricky, but at least you’ll be able to see what you’re doing.

PhoneBook uses your iPhone

by Ally - on June 8, 2010

If you have kids, then you’ve probably already discovered how much you can keep young children entertained with your phone. Those of you with an iPhone or an iPod Touch can keep them entranced for even longer. Well one company in Japan is taking that fascination one step further by creating a PhoneBook that works with your iPhone or iPod Touch to make your child’s book experience a little more thrilling

Astro A30 Metal Gear Solid Headset

Astro A30 Metal Gear Solid Headset

by Ally - on June 8, 2010

There are very few headsets out there that won’t make you look like a total dork. Sure, you might be seriously creaming the competition in a game, but you’re still going to look like a bit of a dweeb with that headset firmly on your head. Thankfully, there are the occasional headsets created that actually look pretty cool. This Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is one that might just help you look a little tougher while you’re wearing it.

T3 Transforming Solar Robot Kit

T3 Transforming Solar Robot Kit

by Ally - on June 9, 2010

Instead of creating a car or some boring desktop item to demonstrate the usage of solar power, you should pick up a robot. This particular robot is a kit that’ll let you or your children learn a little more about using solar power in a much more interesting way. Plus after you’re all finished building the robot, you’ll have a fun little transforming robot.

Sky Factory eScape Display Windows

Sky Factory eScape Display Windows

by Mark R - on June 9, 2010

Sky Factory has made some interesting products, such as theSkyV HD Virtual Skylight, three HD LCD screens made for the ceiling that allow you to watch skies, birds flying over, trees swaying in the breeze, or just about anything else you want to program in it.

The company has taken that concept off the ceiling and applied it to the wall with the eScape. It uses 40-inch 1080p LCDs and even some shutters for added realism.

The Ledge keeps your desk tiny

The Ledge keeps your desk tiny

by Ally - on June 9, 2010

Having a desk when you have no extra room in your home is not an easy task. Thankfully laptops allow you to work on things at your kitchen table instead of being forced to stay at one desk. However, if you do prefer to have a designated desk area, this simple ledge actually turns into a handy little desk. It may not look like much, but it keeps a sliding shelf hidden inside.

Escape Rescue System

Escape Rescue System

by Mark R - on June 9, 2010

What you are seeing here is the Escape Rescue System, and it is something that you would use to quickly evacuate people from a high building.

It is also capable for when you need to get several people inside a high building covertly. You can watch a video of it in action after the jump and see a scene of terrorism that looks like it is right out of 24.

As you can see, this Escape Rescue System can attach to the side of a tall building from the room, and this elevator car can expand into five levels of elevator car. Then this five level car is lowered, and SWAT teams can enter in five windows on five different floors, or one team at a time at one window.

Swing Clock hypnotizes guests

Swing Clock hypnotizes guests

by Ally - on June 9, 2010

If you ever wanted a clock capable of stopping your guests in their tracks, then this is definitely the ticket. Just seeing the clock out of the corner of my eye while I type is enough to make me just a little bit dizzy. Sure, it probably won’t put them in a trance, but it’ll at least keep your evenings interesting. I’d just advise not putting this above the TV or anything else that you tend to look at for long periods though.

HoloAD Diamond Series is one nice holographic display

HoloAD Diamond Series is one nice holographic display

by Mark R - on June 9, 2010

The HoloAD Diamond Series hologram is yet another reason that I was sad that I missed out on Computex in Taipei last week.

It probably is the best example of a holographic TV to date, and it uses three displays with precisely placed glass plates for a that most incredible 3-D effect that we’ve been wanting in our homes for a long time. The images themselves are Flash video files or FLV files, fed from simple USB memory devices like thumb drives.

Mi-Sport headphones are waterproof

Mi-Sport headphones are waterproof

by Mark R - on June 10, 2010

We’re in the heart of a hot summer in my part of the world, and I can’t wait to go swimming again. I’m not one of the types that has to have their tunes everywhere, even in the water, but if I did, I would need to get the Mi-Sport headphones.

The Mi-Sport has a 4GB media player that has a 7 hour rechargeable battery. It is made to support MP3, WMA, and AAC files.

This isn’t the first time that I have seen headphones that you can take around the water, but the Mi-Sport is designed to be in the water. Yes, it is not just water-resistant or splash-proof, but actually water proof.

Trimtab 3×3 Three Wheeled Vechicle

Trimtab 3×3 Three Wheeled Vechicle

by Mark R - on June 10, 2010

This is not the first time that I have reported on a three wheeled vehicle before. Usually, my source calls them three-wheeled tricycles. I don’t know why they don’t call them just tricycles, but I guess that just brings up mental images of something small and red. Maybe they should call things like this “BIG Tricycles”.

Anyway, this is the Trimtab 3×3 by designer David Parrott. It is a tricycle, but not the type that a child would ride.

Japanese Sky Cycle roller coaster is pedal powered

Japanese Sky Cycle roller coaster is pedal powered

by Mark R - on June 10, 2010

Some of you might remember when we reported on theKolelinia, a way of making travel by attaching a bike to a rail and pedal over the traffic.

I bring this up because it reminds me of this Sky Cycle roller coaster. It is located in Japan’s Washuzan Highland Park, and requires the passengers to pedal through it.

I have a video of it if you want to see it in action, but this isn’t a roller coaster with super loops or anything. However, you have to admire the side-by-side pedal powered cars, and even the cute pink baskets.

Ecotek Energy Wizard saves energy

Ecotek Energy Wizard saves energy

by Ally - on June 10, 2010

A lot of appliances currently created are a lot more mindful of their energy usage. However, for those of us using old appliances or ones from companies that just don’t care about that sort of thing, there is a bit of hope. The Energy Wizard is intended to make sure that your appliance doesn’t suck up quite so much energy as it normally would. Of course these Ecotek Energy Wizards are only going to help out those with a standard UK 3 pin plug socket.

Mini Countertop Spin Dryer

Mini Countertop Spin Dryer

by Ally - on June 10, 2010

Gadgets are obviously just cooler with they’re miniature. After all, that is why for the most part gadgets get smaller and smaller. Well now you can even have a mini clothes dryer. It’ll mean you can dry out your clothing just about anywhere you like. Even if you’re out of town at some random hotel, you’ll still manage to get your clothing nice and dry.
